Respect for human rights and employee rights
Code of Conduct
At Shoe-d-vision, we keep ourselves informed on developments in this area, so we can provide good advice to our members.
Code of Conduct
With respect to human rights and employee rights, Shoe-d-vision has drawn up a Code of Conduct for the brand chains Skoringen and zjoos based on conventions defined in the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to draw suppliers’ attention to Shoe-d-vision’s expectations that our suppliers work in compliance with the internationally defined standards for both human rights and employee rights.
Shoe-d-vision supports these principles and expects the same from our suppliers and in turn their suppliers, just as we expect agents to convey this Code of Conduct to their suppliers.
CSR principles
- The employer must permit employees the right to freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with the laws applicable in the relevant country.
- The employer must at least pay the legal minimum wage, and the wages paid must be sufficient to cover the employee’s basic needs. All employees must be made aware of the time they start work, their working hours, pay, right to holidays, protection against unfair dismissal and parental leave.
- Working hours must be mutually agreed between the enterprise and the employees. In enterprises where an organised trade union exists, the working hours must be defined through a joint bargaining process..
- Working hours must not exceed 60 hours a week including Regular overtime.
- The employer must ensure that no individuals under the age of 15 or the compulsory school age, if this is where higher, are employed. Employees aged 14 may, where the national law permits it, take part in light work for a few hours a day, under the precondition that such work is not harmful to their physical or mental health and development and does not prevent them from going to school.
- The employer must not discriminate or support discrimination.
- The employer must not use or support the use of forced or compulsory labour.
- The employer must provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, taking the necessary precautions to prevent accidents and injuries during the course of work or the operation of the employer’s facilities.
- If necessary, the employer must be able to document compliance with the above.
